Future Proof Films is a full-service production and literary management company, representing emerging writers and directors in both feature films and scripted television. We also create unscripted content, find talent, produce sizzle reels, and sell formats to networks. We are currently partnering with a few other production companies on several unscripted television series that should be due out sometime in 2014.
Along with our unscripted television work, we also package feature films and scripted television series for studios, financiers, and production companies. We are nearing our first scripted television deal, and are currently developing several feature films that will start in the packaging process shortly.
We also produce top-quality sizzle reels for those not able to do so. With talent locked in and a strong concept and treatment, we'll produce a network-ready sizzle reel and even help pitch it.
DJ Dodd first began producing and developing content during his undergraduate years at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. He produced the award-winning sitcom Off Campus, eventually earning a Mid-Atlantic Emmy Award for Outstanding Comedy in 2011 for his efforts. DJ continued his education at Chapman University's esteemed Dodge College of Film and Media Arts Conservatory, currently ranked the seventh best film school in the world by The Hollywood Reporter, earning a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Film and Television Producing.
While in graduate school, DJ worked as a Creative Executive at David Foster Productions for veteran Hollywood motion picture producer David Foster (The Thing, The Mask of Zorro, The River Wild), facilitating on such projects as Universal's The Thing prequel (2011) and the development of Dimenion's Short Circuit reboot, among several other independent projects on Foster's slate.
After finishing graduate school, DJ began working as an Associate Producer for Hot Snakes Media, first working on TLC's critically-acclaimed Breaking Amish, as well as the controversial hit Amish Mafia on Discovery Channel as Senior Story Producer. DJ currently works as a freelance producer for all facets of non-scripted television, along with running his own company and developing projects under his banner.
DJ has also branched into management, representing several writers and directors who have produced very strong material. DJ has facilitated the development of several of his clients' projects and has worked to earn them distribution deals, development deals, writing assignments, and options with veteran producers.
